The love for the North Sea, the fun of sailing, the experience of singing together and many happy hours at the Accumersiel Yacht Club connect the 'North Sea Friends'. During the Corona pandemic the group got its name and became a virtual choir because every voice and every instrument had to be recorded solo. It's a running gag to make a CD of this compilation. But who knows?

The 'North Sea Friends' from left to right:
Bärbel is a gifted alto-singer and a really good friend.
Angelika is, as you can see, a Zebra-Fan, has a silvery voice and is always in a good mood.
Helmuth is a true East Frisian, a real friend and a die-hard BVB fan. No more praise is possible.
As an examined cantor, Michael P. is responsible for the very fine cutlery. Harmony leadership, choral movements, strings and horns would not have been possible without him.
Joki is a veteran of the Accumersiel shanty choir. With his humor he always creates a good atmosphere.
Ingeburg is more than just the good soul in the circle of friends. She endured with infinite patience what Achim had come up with in the studio at home. Thank you for your love!
Christian has often performed on stage in a shanty choir and knows almost all the songs from the coast.
Achim build this collection and was the arranger, musician and sound engineer for all songs in his homestudio TSDG1 (Tonstudio Dornumergrode, first floor).
Peter is the longest of the bunch - 2.06 m! But his voice reaches into the deepest basement.
Erwin sails almost as well as he sings. Anyone wanting to win the Blue Ribbon regatta of the Accumersiel Yacht Club has to be faster and better than him. Only a few skippers have managed that in recent years.
Hinni has a great tenor voice and is one of the mainstays in the Accumersiel Shanty Choir.
Willi is a singing brother from his early years at the Accumersiel Yacht Club. He first gave Achim the idea of getting involved in singing and making music.
Michael B. is a natural musical talent with an extremely diverse voice, great runs on the bass guitar and plays wonderful soundscapes on his DX piano.
Tom is an incredibly confident singer, a very good pinanist, an equally good guitar player and is responsible for the big cinema.
Rudolf is a taff sailor, makes his vitage motorcycles look like new and and sings better than he belives.
Bernd likes to play the somewhat jazzy chords and cheeky solos on his guitar. His comeback was unbelievable: After more than 50 years, he took his guitar out of the attic and practiced his parts with enthusiasm. Fabulous!
... and as guest musician: Holger Billker from Dornum. He recorded some great accordion tracks.
Erwin Wilken, Firrel Recording Studio. Thank you for the many instructive hours, the fine ear, the great pedal steel part in "Good Night Irene", the Frisian tranquility and Wilma's hospitality!

Simon Gibson, Abbey Road Studios, London. His mastermix of four songs makes me proud and happy!
